Day 01 ARRIVAL IN SAMARINDA – KUYUNG – MUARA MUNTAI
Arrive at Samarinda airport with morning or noon flight and directly transfer to Kuyung for about 3 hours drive and then crossing the Mahakam River to reach Muara Muntai Village. On the way, we will have opportunity to spot the fresh water dolphins and unique life of villagers on riverside. Afterwards, proceed to check in to a homestay in the Village. (L,D)
Day 02 MUARA MUNTAI – MANCONG – KUYUNG – SAMARINDA
After breakfast, we will explore the exotic of Muara Muntai village with the long wooden bridge which is made of iron wood linking all the roads and alleys of the hamlet. Next, proceed to Mancong by motorized canoe crossing the Jempang Lake of which we will have the opportunity to view plenty of water bird species and fishermen floating houses as well as the romantic Ohong River where proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards and other wild animals are hanging around at riverside. In Mancong, we will explore an exotic longhouse and Benuaq Dayak daily life. Afterwards, proceed to Kuyung for catching our car to drive to Samarinda for overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 03 SAMARINDA – BUKIT BANGKIRAI – TANAH GROGOT
Breakfast at hotel and then driving to Bukit Bangkirai to observe Borneo tropical rainforest by soft jungle trekking and climbing the canopy bridge to view the forest from above. Afterwards, proceed to Tanah Grogot town for overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 04 TANAH GROGOT– CANTUNG VILLAGE – BATU LICIN
After breakfast at hotel, we will drive to Cantung Village crossing beautiful Karst topography, jungle, and mountainous landscape. Afterwards, we will be driving to Batu Licin for overnight at the local hotel. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 05 BATU LICIN– LIANG BANGKAI CAVE – LOKSADO
After breakfast, we will proceed to Liang Bangkai Cave to explore the beautiful stalagmites and stalactites of the limestone cave. We will then drive across rainforest and mountainous landscape to reach Loksado Plateau. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and staying overnight at lodge in Loksado. (B,L,D)
Day 06 BAMBOO RAFTING – BANJARMASIN
After breakfast at lodge, we will have a soft trekking to Dayak land for exploring the rainforest, longhouse, and the waterfall nearby the village. Afterwards, we will take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting across beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the Amandit riverside meanwhile our coach will be waiting on the downstream for transferring to Banjarmasin for overnight at hotel. Day 07 FLOATING MARKET – SAMPIT
Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Afterwards, driving across beautiful peat swamp forest landscape to reach Sampit with some stop over on interesting spots we will meet en route. Arrive at Sampit and directly check in to the hotel. Day 08 SAMPIT – PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to Kumai village for boarding the houseboat to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river boat with roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the afternoon, we will slowly explore the romantic river by the houseboat while observing the primates along the riverside. In the peaceful evening, we can do night trekking to explore wildlife, such as; tarantula, sleeping birds, frogs, mousedeers, insects, etc. Staying overnight at houseboat or Rimba Lodge with dining on the boat, with facilities; mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled “mineral” water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. Day 09 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we will board the houseboat for cruising upward to Pondok Tanguy to explore the rehabilitation center of the new ex-captive orangutans. Next, return to houseboat for sailing upward the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At this station, we will explore the story of first orangutan project in the world, we will then trekking to the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional foods. Afterwards, we will sail down the river while exploring the nature and wildlife on riverside. Lunch and dinner will be served at houseboat. Staying overnight at Rimba Lodge or houseboat. (B,L,D)
Day 10 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – DEPARTURE
After breakfast, we will get the morning safari to explore wildlife on riverside. Afterwards, proceed to Kumai village to catch the car for driving to Pangkalan Bun airport for your flight to next destination. (B)
