Loksado is the great escape from the city of Banjarmasin. It is part of the Meratus Mountain where the well preserved indigenous Dayak culture meets the stunning natural landscape. Loksado is a lush landscape decorated with wonderful waterfalls, rushing rivers, rocks, and the enchanting culture of its indigenous people. This particular part of Kalimantan is home to the indigenous Dayak Meratus tribes–a sub ethnic group of the Dayak that still maintaining the ancestor believe called Kaharingan.
Living closely with nature, the Dayak Meratus practice the Animism rituals that revolve around agriculture. Equally fascinating as the exotic Dayak culture are the Meratus Mountains themselves that are filled with natural splendors. The most exceptional feature of Loksado’s natural treasures is the Amandit River that runs through some of the most fascinating sceneries of the area. The winding river of fresh clear water decorated with rocks and creeks and unique traditional bridges that look to the lush green hills of Meratus are surely a sight rarely found elsewhere. Travelers can enjoy this magnificent view and sensation by taking the bamboo rafting adventure.

Day 01 ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN – BATU HAPU CAVE – NAGARA – LOKSADO

Arrive in Banjarmasin airport with morning flight and then directly driving to Batu Hapu village to explore the cave with remarkable panorama that has graced the stalactite and stalagmite. We will then continue driving to Nagara village to get our boat crossing the river to Nagara Lake for observing water buffaloes swim to the stall and villagers’ unique activities, as well as the romantic sunset outlook. Afterwards, proceed to Loksado across the beautiful swampy and lowland landscape into the Plateau of Meratus Mountain. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at lodge in Loksado. (L,D)

Day 02 JUNGLE TREK

After breakfast at lodge, we will proceed to explore jungle and Dayak land crossing primary and secondary rainforest, hills, waterfall, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, longhouses, cinnamon and rubber trees. In the afternoon, we will back to the lodge through other trail with different beauties of nature. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 03 BAMBOO RAFTING – TANUHI HOTSPRING – SUNGAI RUTAS – BANJARMASIN

After breakfast, we will get the adventure trip of bamboo rafting across beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the Amandit riverside. Next, proceed to Tanuhi Village to get relaxing at the pool of natural hotspring. We will then driving to Sungai Rutas village to get our boat crossing the romantic river to spot wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, long tailed macaque, silvery langurs, birds, monitor lizards, and other wild animals on the riverside as well as the daily activities of local people. Afterwards,  proceed to Banjarmasin for staying overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 04 FLOATING MARKET – PALANGKA RAYA

Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market to explore the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. We will then continue our trip by driving across the beautiful peat swamp forest landscape to reach Palangka Raya to stay overnight at the hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 05 ORANGUTAN ISLAND – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, we will proceed to the jetty for catching our motorized canoe to reach Orangutan Island while sightseeing the beautiful natural black river and rainforest around, just keep an eye out for monkeys and birds. Free at your own leisure till the proper time for transferring to airport for your flight to next destination. (B)
