Cruising the Sekonyer river to Tanjung Puting National Park will give you the opportunity to see wild forest with kinds of fascinating fauna, such as; orangutans, monitor lizards, crocodiles, proboscis monkey, wild pig, birds, etc. While the Kahung Valley is part of Meratus Mountain on South Kalimantan which is a precise choice for anyone who loves adventure, started by cruising Riam Kanan Lake with mountainous panorama and birds sightseeing to reach Belangian village for hiking the grass hills and crossing villagers’ farms. Afterwards, encountering the tropical rainforest with plenty of gigantic trees and romantic cascades of which some wild birds and primates showing up occasionally, you will engage the wonderful nature of the Borneo with amazing beauties of the great atmosphere on its forest.

Day 01 ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN – PANJARATAN – SULTAN ADAM FOREST PARK

Meet at airport and directly transfer Cempaka Village to explore people dig hole and take the material out to find rough diamond in a traditional diamond digging. Next, driving across rainforest and mountainous landscape to reach Panjaratan Village to get the boat crossing the river to spot wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, black leaf monkeys, long tailed macaques, birds, etc. Afterwards, proceed to Sultan Adam Forest Park for check in to the resort. We can spend the afternoon with tea or coffee while enjoying the beautiful view of Meratus Mountain landscape from the resort. (L,D)

Day 02 SULTAN ADAM FOREST PARK – RIAM KANAN LAKE – KAHUNG VALLEY

Breakfast at the resort while enjoying the misty of Meratus Mountain and the sound of the nature. We will then proceed to Aranio port to board the boat for crossing upward the Riam Kanan Lake to reach Belangian village while sighting beautiful mountainous scenery, floating fishing ponds, and boat making as well as species of bird fly over the lake. Afterwards, transfer by motorbike to Hutan Lindung to start the trekking into Kahung Valley crossing rivers, rocks, gigantic trees, and slippery trails of the primary rainforest. We will then setting our campsite at the riverside. Lunch will be served enroute, dinner and staying overnight at the jungle camp. (B,L,D)

Day 03 KAHUNG VALLEY – WATERFALL – HAPUNIT

Breakfast at the jungle camp and then trekking deeper under a canopy of impressive trees and beside of beautiful cascades to reach a fascinating waterfall. We can swim and enjoy the fresh water and sound of nature with hope spotting wildlife crossing the canopy. In the afternoon, we will trek down the jungle into Hapunit to set our campsite at the riverside. Lunch will be served enroute, dinner and staying overnight at the jungle camp. (B,L,D)

Day 04 HAPUNIT – RIAM KANAN LAKE – BANJARMASIN

After breakfast at the campsite, we will then trekking down to the village to board the boat crossing downward the mountainous lake into Aranio port. Afterwards, driving to Banjarmasin for check in to the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be served at the local restaurants. Staying overnight at the hotel in Banjarmasin. (B,L,D)

Day 05 FLOATING MARKET – PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning, we will leave to the floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to the hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at the riverside. Breakfast at the hotel and free at your own leisure till the proper time for transferring to the airport to catch your flight to Pangkalan Bun. Arrive at Pangkalan Bun and directly transfer to Kumai Village to board the houseboat into Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river boat with the roof that forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the afternoon, we will slowly cruise the romantic river to explore the flora and fauna along the riverside. In the peaceful evening, we can do a night walk to explore the nocturnal animals, such as; tarantula, sleeping birds, frogs, mousedeers, insects, etc. Staying overnight at the houseboat or Rimba Lodge with dining at the boat, with facilities; mattress, pillow, fine meals, mineral water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available at the boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. Day 06 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will cruise upward the river into Pondok Tanguy to explore the rehabilitation center of the new ex-captive orangutans. Next, return to the houseboat for cruising up the creek into Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At this station, we will explore the story of the first orangutan project in the world, we will then trek to the feeding station to see the rehabilitated orangutans are given additional food. Afterwards, cruising down the river while exploring nature and wildlife at the riverside. Lunch and dinner will be served at the houseboat. Staying overnight at Rimba Lodge or in the houseboat. Day 07 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – KUMAI VILLAGE – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, we will get the morning safari to explore nature and wildlife at the riverside. Afterwards, proceed to Kumai Village to catch the car for driving to the airport for your onward flight to the next destination. (B)
