Day 01 ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN – BARITO RIVER
Meet at airport and directly transfer to hotel for check in. In the afternoon, we will cross downward the Barito River to the estuary for exploring the fascinating mangrove forest which is inhabited by proboscis monkeys, black leaf monkeys, long tailed macaques, and species of birds. Return to hotel crossing beautiful rice field, forest, and remote villages. (L,D)
Day 02 BANJARMASIN – BELANGIAN – SUNGAI BESAR
After breakfast at hotel in Banjarmasin, we will proceed to Aranio port for crossing upward the Riam Kanan Lake to reach Belangian village while sighting beautiful mountainous scenery, floating fishing ponds, and boat making as well as species of bird fly over the lake. Afterwards, soft trekking to Sungai Besar for setting our campsite at riverside. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at the camp on riverside. (B,L,D)
Day 03 JUNGLE TREK
After breakfast, we will be trekking to Riam Cemara crossing villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, meadow, hills, primary and secondary rainforest. Next, continue trekking to Kahung valley waterfall with almost the same characteristic. On our trail, we will hear and see plenty of primates jump on trees as well as wild orchids. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at the camp on riverside. (B,L,D)
Day 04 JUNGLE TREK – BANJARMASIN
After breakfast, proceed to Belangian village for crossing downward the lake to the port and directly transfer to Banjarmasin for overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 05 FLOATING MARKET – PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Breakfast at hotel and free at own leisure till the proper time for transferring to airport for your flight to Pangkalan Bun. Arrive at Pangkalan Bun and directly transfer to Kumai village for boarding the houseboat to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river boat about with roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the romantic river by the houseboat while observing the primates along the riverside. In the peaceful evening, we can do night trekking to explore wildlife, such as; tarantula, sleeping birds, frogs, mousedeers, insects, etc. Staying overnight at houseboat or Rimba Lodge with dining on the boat, with facilities; mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled “mineral” water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. Day 06 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we will board the houseboat for cruising upward to Pondok Tanguy to explore the rehabilitation center of the new ex-captive orangutans. Next, return to houseboat for sailing upward the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At this station, we will explore the story of first orangutan project in the world, we will then trekking to the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional foods. Afterwards, we will sail down the river while exploring the nature and wildlife on riverside. Lunch and dinner will be served at houseboat. Staying overnight at Rimba Lodge or houseboat. (B,L,D)
Day 07 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – DEPARTURE
After breakfast, we will get the morning safari to explore wildlife on riverside. Afterwards, proceed to Kumai village to catch the car for driving to Pangkalan Bun airport for your flight to next destination. (B)
